Mike Filsaime is an IT guy who has been involved in some relatively large software companies. He is the second marketer to complete a $1 million product launch in 2006.

Since then, he has done over $1 million launches for numerous brands and products, positioning himself as one of the biggest names in digital marketing.

His software companies have done more than $150 million in sales, with his latest venture – GrooveFunnels – promising to be his most successful.

Filsaime was born in Long Island, New York in October 1967.

He studied Business Administration and Computer Science in the late 80's – giving him an early adoption in IT. In the '80s; however, the internet was not yet born and as such, Mike Filsaime had to buy his time before kick starting his internet marketing journey.

He became a sales manager at Toyota and Hyundai Dealership based in Long Island where he's stayed for 10 years.

After striking out on his own, Mike went on to create some of the biggest online brands in the internet marketing pace.

His goal?

To create products, courses, and software that helped entrepreneurs and companies market and sell online.

He quickly built his reputation as an influencer in the marketing space. In August 2004, Mike Filsaime was inspired by John Reese who shocked the internet marketing community with his $1 million product launch of "Traffic Secrets." 

Mike Filsaime made it his goal to do a $1 million product launch of his own - and two years later pulled it off with his 2006 launch of the "Butterfly Marketing" program and software.

His logic was simple: sell a $1000 product to 1000 people in a day. With the Butterfly Marketing launch, Mike Filsaime beat his previous record which was $45,000 in a week.

This million dollar launch skyrocketed Mike Filsaime to "guru" status in the digital marketing community.

Filsaime would go on to create many new products, with total sales of $150+ million. One of the notable products created was Deal Guardian, an online platform for buyers, sellers, and affiliates – that gave ClickBank a run for their money.

He proceeded to create popular software applications such as WebinarJam, Kartra, and EverWebinar in conjunction with his business partners under the umbrella company of Genesis Digital LLC.

One day, Mike and his former partner Andy Jenkins at Genesis Digital LLC got a call from Russell Brunson – the creator of ClickFunnels (a popular funnel-building software).

Russell explained to them that he was launching ClickFunnels and that he wanted the Genesis Digital team to help promote it.

According to Mike Filsaime, the two agreed to be an affiliate for Russell on one condition. Mike and Andy asked Russell to promise not to expand into email and affiliate marketing software. 

Russell agreed not to add competing software inside of the ClickFunnels platform and the affiliate relationship began.

Mike Filsaime's promotional efforts were so successful that Mike quickly became the top affiliate for ClickFunnels in 2015.

Fast forward a little bit of time and sure enough, ClickFunnels launched Actionetics (their email marketing platform) and BackPack, their affiliate software...

ClickFunnels was a great addition to the IM world. Russell Brunson brought online sales funnel to the forefront. He shed light on how online sales were not all about the shopping cart, rather, they were more about sales pages and funnels – and ClickFunnels did an excellent job at that.

After Mike Filsaime and Andy Jenkins found out about Actionetics and BackPack, the two decided to launch Kartra, their own sales funnel builder...

Mike Filsaime and Why He Jumped the Good Ship Kartra

While Kartra is excellent software, its founder's relationship was not all excellent. Mike's relationship with Andy became rocky, and they eventually split.

Mike Filsaime took a buyout and signed a 2-years non-compete agreement with Kartra.

Being a determined software developer with a deep understanding of SaaS companies, he was more than ready to jump back in the funnel business as soon as the two years were up.

Within the two year non-compete period, he created GrooveKart, an e-Commerce platform to go head-on with Shopify. 

In 2018, he hired a former Kartra developer to build GroovePages to compete with both Kartra, ClickFunnels, and other funnel software. 

According to Filsaime, GroovePages is built on a superior framework than any of the other competing funnel building platforms. Filsaime has recruited other developers and coders from his previous company and is on a mission to take over the top spot in the funnel software niche.
